Hello All
Due to the recent Storm Ophelia weather warnings and the areas that some of our members have to travel in the late evening, we have decided to cancel the Wicklow Writers Meeting on Monday 16 October 2017.
We will return as normal next Monday 23 October 2017 at 7:30pm at Kilmantin Arts, Wicklow Town.
“Homework” for next Monday is a story or poem entitled “When the Storm Hit!” 😆

Wicklow Writers say 'A BIG THANK YOU' to Angela Patten And Daniel Lusk from Vermont, two famous and award winning Poets and Novelists, who came to our Writers Group to talk about writing, teaching and publishing, it was a wonderful night.
Angela is my cousin, and her brother, John Goggins, also attended and enjoyed the night.
Special thanks from Wicklow Writers to Eithne who gave a spirited recitation of 'The Green Eye of The Little Yellow God', specially for the visitors, to great delight and floods of memories for all present.
Thank You.

Last few Meetings before the Summer 2017
Following a successful Cosmic Gardens last Sunday 28 May 2017, we had our regular meeting on Monday night where we shared our stories on our fictional characters 'Doris and Patrick'.
We had a great turnout at the Cosmic Gardens including members from Avoca Scribblers, Gorey Writers, people from the locality and of course, our own Wicklow Writers members, to spend a few moments listening to different poems and prose from each of the participants on the day. The weather was as we expected - great! Check out our photos from the day under the Wicklow Writers Photo Tab.
We are not meeting next Monday as it is a Bank Holiday but the following Monday (12 June 2017) we have two guests, Angela and Daniel from Vermont, to talk us through their experiences of writing and to share their thoughts and wisdom. We've called this our 'talk about writing' session! Both Angela and Daniel are published and award winning poets and novelists - so we are very honoured to have this opportunity to meet with them. Join us on the night if you please.
The following Monday - 19 June 2017 - will be our final meeting before we close for the Summer holidays. But September will not be long coming round!
